Dyer
From The Stasi Files
Please remember that this is a fictional account, based on works of fiction
Dyer, no first name, was a section head in SIS. He was a Russian mole, who being senior within SIS, only passed documents and used operationally if it was deemed very important. Dyer recruited George Blake for the SIS in Hamburg. Blake never knew Dyer was working for the Russians till Blake's escape, which was organised by Dyer, from prison. Later Dyer and KGB Colonel Anatoli Mikhailovich Petrov, Blake's controller jointly killed Blake in order to protect Dyer.
When Petrov defected he named Dyer and the SIS, with the consent of the UK Government, staged a fatal accident for Dyer in Cyprus.
